Staying in San Sebastian

We really love it here and we have decided to stay another day-it is just too good to leave.

Today is Monday, so the beaches are not filled with lithe bodies. Presumably any one who is still lithe is back at work. Nope, they are filled, and I mean filled, with retirees walking up and down the beach enjoying the sun, talking with their friends, going for a swim. This is the anti-LA. This beach is not filled with string beans, but apples and pears. Damn happy apples and pears.

We walked for a couple hours a long the beach and looking for the bookstore that sells English books. Instead we found an American woman married to a man from San Sabastian, who makes really cute kids clothes who gave us all her books she had finished. We now have 4 new paperbacks and a friend. After that we wandered though old town, finally empty after yesterday's boat races, and stopped for coffee and some amazing dessert at a bar. I have no idea what we ate, but man it was tasty.

Andrew will write more about the boat races and party later. Right now it is time for the beach.
